We Grow Great Kids!
Interested in preschool for your child? First Presbyterian Church Preschool has a long history and tradition of providing excellent care and education for young people, both in the church and from the community.

We Believe School Should Be Fun!   That's why you should take a look at First Presbyterian Preschool.

Back in 1963, First Presbyterian Church decided a complete teaching program was a great goal, so we did something about it. We started a weekday pre-school program with one teacher and 10 students.

It was really fun!

Today, that same program's going strong, except for one thing: we've got a lot more than 10 students...and more classes. Now you'll find five different classes and something for kids as young as 2 and as old as 5.

Due to the popularity of our classes, we really encourage you to start your child at age 2 and work through the grades. But, if you check early enough, we may have an opening in the later classes. So check soon for next year!

Oh, and by the way: we're still having fun.

We Believe in Playing Hard!   We think you'll like our philosophy; it's pretty simple.

We believe children learn best through play. In fact, we think it's the most effective kind of learning, especially for preschool children.

When children learn through play during the preschool years, they're better prepared for what comes next: kindergarten and first grade. And when they're better prepared, they're also more successful, not only in kindergarten, but throughout their school years, too.

The way we see it, by giving children the chance to discover, learn and play, we boost their creative spirit for learning.

And the result? School really IS fun!

We Believe in Growing Great Kids!   Growing great kids takes a top-notch program. Ours fits the bill. At First Presbyterian Preschool, we consider the whole child and encourage the best development during the pre-school years.

We care about our students' physical, mental, spiritual and social welfare. We want them to learn to live together, to share and to cooperate.

And, because we have our eyes on our students' futures, we help them learn good work habits and teach them how to be good neighbors and develop a wholesome spirit of independence.

So you can see why First Presbyterian Preschool grows great kids!

We Believe in Building a Future!   First Presbyterian Preschool began in September 1963. The class had one teacher and 10 4-year-old students.

In the '70s, we added a 3-year-old class and, since then, a 5-year-old class for children not quite ready for kindergarten. We listen to parents, too. When some suggested a play school for 2-year-olds, we added one!

Who teaches? People who know what they're doing, that's who. All of our teachers have strong childcare experience and most have teaching degrees in elementary or early childhood education.

Best of all, your child learns and grows in a comfortable, safe place. We have an outside play area with great equipment and, for those rainy, snowy or cold days, our students can be as active as they like in two indoor play areas.

We're always upgrading and adding new, exciting ways of teaching!
