Step Inside Our Sanctuary ... Once inside First Presbyterian Church, you'll find yourself in our large, airy Sanctuary. Wow! We think it's beautiful. With its rich, red carpet and stonework throughout the chancel area, and its ground to ceiling windows overlooking the Prayer Garden, it serves to inspire the worshipper. And never is it more beautiful than at Advent and Christmas, when the red poinsettias, green trees with their twinkling lights, and soft overall lighting set the tone for worship, especially for the Christmas Eve Candlelight service that has, for many years, heralded Christmas Day with such joyous, heartfelt celebration. The Pulpit is generous and, with its simple sculptural forms, suggests a sense of depth. Gracing the top of the impressive structure is scripture: "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life." Separate from the Sanctuary is the small, intimate Calvary Chapel and Columbarium. The chapel houses the Memorial Columbarium, which has two sets of 48 niches for the inurnment of cremated remains. The intimate setting and gentle light filtering through the stained glass provide a contemplative setting for memorial services and visitation as well as special worship services.
