What's Up for Young People at First PresbyterianFirst Presbyterian's
booming with children these days. And we're working up programs to educate
them and give them a better sense of how God fits into their age right
from the start. |

Sunday
School |
We
offer Sunday School classes for children from age 3 through the Sixth Grade.
Sunday School starts at 9:15. Plus, we have a Children's Sunday Education
Time that begins just after the Children’s Sermon during the 10:30 worship
service, and runs throughout that service. Children learn about many of
the usual Bible stories, but also learn about the worship service at First
Presbyterian Church. |

| Nursery (3 and under) 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sundays Special Events and Services |
We
offer a clean, bright facility complete with cribs, toys, books, toys, rocking
chairs, toys -- well, just about anything a child might want! The Nursery
is always open during regular Sunday worship services and is generally available
during special services and events outside Sundays.

The
Gathering |
The Gathering is our great midweek pick-me-up for families and singles, children and adults. We offer classes for children (and for adults, too!). There's something for everyone. Here's what's available for children:

Vacation
Bible School VBS II
(Grades 3-8) |
What
fun! Vacation Bible School, free to the community! Last year nearly 100
children romped and learned at our events. We'll post information about
the 2005 version as it becomes available. This year our theme is "Living
as the Forgiven Children of God." Each day we'll "visit"
a new country and hear from a missionary who is actively spreading God's
word. E-mail us or
call the church at 304-422-5426 for more information. |
|
| Annual Bluestone Summer Camp July 17-23, 2005 |
In
July, our youth gather together for a trip to the annual church camp at
the Bluestone Conference Center near Hinton, West Virginia. There, they
bond with youth from other churches and with their fellow First Presbyterian
friends. It's a time of learning -- about themselves and about God. E-mail us or
call the church at 304-422-5426 for more information. |
|
| Relay for Life Spring (usually May) |
In
conjunction with the American Cancer Society's annual Relay for Life, First
Presbyterian Church always organizes a team to participate. With a camper
or tent for a home base at the City Park, and walkers (and partiers!) willing
to brave the changeable spring weather, it's a great mission experience
for youth and adults alike. |

| First Presbyterian Church Preschool During the regular school year |
